ART WORKSHOPS 2023 (Oakland, CA.)
This series of experimental art workshops are taught in a spacious and colorful studio in West Oakland, with easy access to the Bay Bridge. The studio has lots of light, working space on 16 foot tables, hanging space for reviews, and is well equipped with art supplies and tools. Most of the workshops commence with a digital presentation on the subject, creative exercises, work time and “pin up” critiques for feedback.

Drawing Techniques
This is a full day of learning several drawing skills, techniques, tools and materials through short exercises, with a drawing project at the end. We will begin the day with a digital presentation of a range of drawn artworks for inspiration. I will cover line contours, shading, gestural drawing, perspective basics, drawing for scale, transfer techniques, figurative and abstract drawing and much more. We will be using different types of pencils and charcoal on different types of paper. This class is a great way to pick up new skills and to try new techniques. Level: Beginner to Advanced.

Experimental Impressions: Part 1 + 2
This class explores experimental methods for creating layered and multi-colored prints using a range of tools, materials and processes. We will explore ways to combine relief and stamp printing, stenciling, transfer techniques, drawing and more. We will have a pin-up critique of all work. Level: Beginner to Advanced.
11-5pm (2 Sundays)
$220 + Material fee $30. (paper, inks, tools, stencils, misc. supplies)

Studio Access with Supervision
Studio Access allows you to work from 10-6pm in the studio with access to tools and supplies. I will be independently working on my projects and am available for supervision or feedback. Make a reservation via email.

Cancellations can be made 48 hrs. in advance of the class for a full refund. Otherwise a $40. cancellation fee will be retained. Please note that there is a 4 person minimum for workshops, and I reserve the right to cancel workshops that do not fill.
